we went to butlins minehead in Feb, although we stayed in an apartment, we did try to look at the touring site, but it looked like they were using it for a dump, as it had lots of piles of old beds etc. all over it. It was also very overgrown, but as it was Feb and not open, I hope that it has now been sorted.
We have been to Butlins minehead many times, but feb will be the last time that we will go for a number of reasons. The main one being, we have never spent so much money whilst on holiday, everything free is a joke, the "fairground" had 5 rides and Go-karts (that were an extra charge), then a small indoor fair for toddlers, a slide, and around 6 small rides. The swimming pool is free, but was dirty, and kids play area gone, and main ride inside not working. You can let your kids go on the climbing walls/ropes, just dont forget your £20 each for them to have ago, £5 for bungee trampoline, £3 for go on surfboard, ballon models from £2, face painting from £3 and it goes on, in the skyline it has a distinct lack of seating, unless you were in a cafe of course, and all around are the dreaded machines, not 10p ago but £1, so as the kids are bored its a constant "can we have a £1"
Drinks, food, ice-cream, sweets, beer prices all a rip off.
Sorry but we used to love butlins, but never again,
