I've been searching for a campsite in Cleethorpes, nothing fancy just the basic electrics will do. Can anyone tell me if there are any in the area other than Thorpe Park, I have just had an oline quote of £91.80 for 2 nights in June for 4 People with my own van!! Surely this is a rip off? I have been before a few years ago and I know you get access into the club/pool on site but I don't actually want any of this - I just want a site where we can stay for a couple of nights with our caravan with electrics - has anyone else any ideas or suggestions. I cannot understand how they can charge these rediculous prices?! Pleeeeeease help?

Hi Jennifer,
Many thanks for your reply, I think that may be the best idea. I've never known any other sites in the Cleethorpes area which surprises me really as Thorpe Park seems to have it all sewn up and charge what they like, the actual price of £91.80 was even with discount at that of around £17!!
Thank you once again for your reply! Kind regards,
Julie
Try the Caravan Club site, Hawthorn Farm at Sutton on Sea - a bit further down the coast and much nicer than Cleethorpes! More like your traditional seaside town with no amusements.
There are a few sites between Mblethorpe and Cleethorpes, there is one at North Somercoates(sp) it is a big complex so may be pricey but there are a couple at Saltfleetby which are a bit smaller.
At the prices they are asking at Thorpe park you could do worse , as has been said, to join the cc club, thereby being able to book a c.l site at a few quid a night and still having the benefit of the club for the future.
I have looked in the cc book and there are 6 c.l.sites in that area.
There is a small site about 1-2 miles from the seafront (very direct though) and very close to the large tescos. Can't remember what it is called (despite driving past it everyday to work for 4 years!!), but do know that it is CC Club site. It's address may be New Waltham, as that is the area of the town.
Sorry, this doesn't seem very helpful, but I could find the name out if you wanted it.
hi, we have stayed on ther camping and caravanning site at meblethorpe, twice now and can recommend it, it is very clean, quiet, level and only a 10 minute walk into the centre. fantastic beach and the seafront is lovely, lots for the kids to do if you have any, much better than cleethorpes.
It was a bit to basic for us facilities wise but if you dont need the showers/loos then it was a lovely quiet site with nice views and peacefull countryside
