HI all,

Well we have just booked our first ever camping trip at Seadown in Dorset looks like a nice site with lots of good reveiws! But we are going on to there after a week at Haven in Weymouth which we booked long before getting the bug for camping, im just a bit worried about taking our fully packed trailer there for a week as it only has a soft cover will it be safe? Or should i come back home for it about a 2 hour drive?

What do you think?

I think I would also be a bit worried about leaving it at the Haven site unless they had somewhere it could be securely locked away.

I know you can padlock the trailer itself, but that does not stop anyone from emptying it!!

How far is it to Seadown from Weymouth? If it is not too far you could ask if they have anywhere you could leave the trailer until you get there.

I have never had any reason to worry while on a campsite, but the trailer is pretty much empty then and I think you do tend to feel more relaxed about that sort of thing when camping/caravaning.

I wouldn't leave ours without a hitchlock and wheelclamp on.

We have just bought a trailer and it's the best thing we ever did.  Been on two trips so far this year and not had any problems apart from someone taking a liking to our dust caps !!!!!!!!! Woke up one morning and they had gone, the groups next to us had bikes and we think they took a shine to them so make sure you take them off.

We put all our valubles in the car or tent and just have outer bags and packaging left in it.  Make sure you chain it up if at all possible and also make sure you get it insured.
