Hi all
Well role on Saterday, we are of again for a 15 night stay at the C&C Club site at Folkstone. Our first trip this year without Mains power.15 nights should be a good test for my solar setup.
I have read the reviews but what I would like to find out,are all the pitches designated or are the non service pitches go were you like. From the last review it looks like the mangers are OK,This is one of my biggest worry's with the C&C club as some of the Managers forget they are required to try to help people enjoy their stay on the sites, where we pay to become a member, enough said on that.
If any of you are around the warren in the next couple of weeks pop in for a cuppa with the old folks,
All the best
Rex

we stayed here and the non service pitches have the better views.A road cuts through the site and non service are the sea side of the road. some of the pitches had lovely views. it is a lovely site and we will go back at some point. i don't know about designated pitches though, it was full while we were there but didn't feel crowded
Hi carol
Thank you for the information,It is nice to get members opinions on site you have not visited before. We are both looking forward to going to Kent.We have only been to Kent once before when we had the small motor home,
Thank you.

Not sure Rex, but they used to have a good market on the seafront on a Sunday morning, worth checking that out. Also, Howletts, one of teh John Aspinall 'zoos', is not to be missed, that's nr Canterbury. We used to go 3/4 times a year when we lived on the Kent border. It makes a beautiful day out.

Hi Rex, stayed at the site a few times over the years, and once on site its very pleasent and of course the facilities very clean . One unfortunate thing to bear in mind is the access road down to the site which as blind bends and very pot holed surfaces, this mainly being because the club do not own the road. Its used by the public mainly anglers for sea fishing, and because of this the site loans you a key to the toilet blocks ( to stop the public using them) Folkstone itself IMO used to be a lovely seaside resort a few years ago, but I feel it is now rather run down and someparts partculary at night seem threatning, with boarded up shops and many noisy drinking teenagers. Try the cliff railway up to the town centre, and reflect on Remeberance Hill where thousands of troops used to march down to the ships to take them France to fight. Have a good one. kiev
Hi Ali
Yes Val is looking forward to a visit to Howletts, and the market is a farmers market is it not, should be able to pick up some good food there for the Barbecue and cheese,Cheese is a great food it is always a good excuse for me to pour a glass of wine, not that I need an excuse but Val being teetotal she really thinks wine is a total waste of money.

Hi kiev
Thank you for the information,It is a shame how towns seem to deteriorate these days but we tend to look above the shops to see the architecture and we are normally back in camp before the drinking starts,we do not frequent pubs and clubs now due to the price's they charge and the pension dose not stretch to it.but we have been known to pop in for half a shandy if the pub looks interesting or we can not find a toilet

When I last went to Folkestone market on the seafront on a Sunday, it was a 'normal' market but that was a long time ago!
PS If you drive down the M20 , don't make mistake I did few years agio and decisde to drive into the channel tunnel car terminal 'for a quick look', I was in teh queue to go to France before I knew it! Had to say 'let me go' no passport on me and not insured to drive abroad and they laughed at me and waved me through with a secuity guard to make sure that I turned round lol
the C&C Club site at Folkstone is one of the cleanst sites ive stayed at with very good toilet/showers its only 50 mins from me, so we use it 5/6 times a year, the staff are very helpfull , just dont think on going far with out the car due to the access road being very steep ,,, keeps the caravaners out ps try to stay out of the bottom of the camp site as this is where the kids play
