Hi all

Hoping someone can help.

Off on a trip next weekend with some friends that haven't been camping for a while.  Leaving around 4pm on Friday coming back Sunday.

Don't want to have to travel for miles so less than an hour from Manchester would be great.  We really love the Lakes etc but to get to somewhere like Fisherground in Eskdale on a Friday evening would be a nightmare.

Anyone got any suggestions?  If possible something for young kids to do, e.g. a park.  No too bothered about facilities just a shower and toilet will be fine!!

Cheers

What about the Llangollen/Wrexham area? There are quite a few sites. The Plassey has a good reputation but is quite pricey I think. Or there is James's at Ruabon (stayed there, lots of grass to run around on but not much else for kids). Or you could go to Clitheroe, or various places in Cheshire.

We live in Manchester, and regularly do weekend breaks in the Buxton area, takes around an hour

Lime Tree Park is one we often take the kids too.

We are off to Newhaven in a few weeks, not tried it yet, but it looks quite nice

We are also off to Glanllyn - Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park which should be about an hour away in Bala in July.

That looks really nice
