Hi everyone been around for ages just never posted but im always reading and can say this site is tooo addictive, wife gets very cross.

What we are looking for is a site about 45 mins away that accepts my vango diablo 600,has nice facilities and somewhere we can take the dog.

I dont get home from work till 2 on Saturdays and would love somewhere which we could just grab the tent and be there quick and have a nice overnight stay, not sure if many of u do a one nighter but with weather like this im excited to just get out there.

CC&C site at Clitheroe? Don't think you can book only 1 night on a weekend but you could ring them & check availability before you set out.

See you all soon, Bernard.

Hi

The buxton area sounds like your closest option. We regularly do weekend trips over there, takes around an hour.

If its adults only try Longnor Wood or Peaklands they are both very nice.

If kids, try Lime Tree Park or Newhaven

Was just thinking along the above lines myself-anywhere in the Peak District should be near enough for you.

See you all soon, Bernard.

I don`t know of anywhere that close to you, but if you can travel further for a longer break then you`ll love New Hall Farm near Southwell. It`s well away from any roads and they have very large pitches, excellent facilities and fantastic dog walking on their farm and along adjoining footpaths including Robin Hood`s Way. The owners do beef baps on a Saturday night too. They are mainly adults only but do accept children by arrangement (which is a bit strange really). We`ll definitely go back again, you`ll find them in the campsite search,

                                                          Sue

I forgot to mention the lovely views in all directions from the site.

Hi

Try Burrs Country Park in Bury.  Its a new CC site.  We went to take a look this week and its lovely.  Great country park to walk the dog.  Facitilies are upto the usual standard for CC sites.  Take a look.

I haven't checked the finer details of these sites, So they may not tick all the boxes? and not sure if they are within 45mins but they have received good reviews recently and are loosely your area.

dont know what you're after. Holme valley is lovely but you can't walk anywhere close by, maybe for a meal. Thats the only drawback for us with children but a great site .Take your'e midgy spray if it stays warm and you're near the river!
