Hiya
Haven't stayed at that campsite - we stay at Glenmore foresty holiday site - bit downhill this year but hey ho. Someone on Glenmore said the site in Aviemore is a bit grot - it is right in town - the site at Glenmore is next to Loch Morlich which has a beach - about five or six miles from Aviemore - you can see the Cairngorm mountain from there - we actually walked all the way from the site to the train that goes up the mountain - you can see the site from the top. There's a dry ski slope for the kids and a shop and cafe.
We have also been to the Landmark forest theme park - my kids are 10 and 11 and loved it. There are big slides you can go down and a rope course - my 11 year old did it really well - I wouldn't do it!! There are trails round for red squirrels, a maze, nice cafes, shire horses doing demonstrations of wood cutting. It's a good place to go. We also went to the Highland Wildlife Park -this is a safari park - we got chased by a bison, there are also wolves, otter, reindeer, red deer etc. You can get out and see things like the wild boar being fed, lynx and lots of other stuff - good cafe and shop. We have also been to feed wild reindeer, again opposite the Glenmore site, and have been to see the osprey nest at Abernethy and have been fishing at Rothiemurchus. It's a good area.
