The CCC site at Walton on Thames is 1 mile from a train station. Have never stayed there myself though. [EDIT - just read more closely, there's no toilet at this site. Horsley (1 mile from a station) or Chertsey (2 miles) may suit better ? ]
i am also on the lookout for some sites in / near london with easy bus / train / underground links, as long as i have 1 option i can then change as needed, i will need to get to the royal free hospital every day for a week or 2. i would like EHU and shower but thats about all i need. will any one that knows of any local sites like can you post a link or address for me to look at please. thanks.
This one is Loughton is good because although it's quite a long way out, Loughton Station is on the central line so the trains are very frequent and travelling to all parts of London is easy. Loads of people commute from here.
Floppy - to get to Hampstead (Belsize Park station) you'd need to change onto the Northern line at Bank. It would probably take just over an hour.

Abbey Wood - Caravan Club site only 4 minutes to a railway station. Excellent train service to Greenwich and London. When we went we got the train to Greenwich and a boat down the Thames into London returned late that night to Abbey Wood by train - no problems.

There is a CS just outside St. Albans at a place called Sandridge, phone no. 07973 713366. You can go by train from St. Albans to West Hampstead for the Royal Free.
