I went a few times 20 odd years ago when they had a garden centre. I want to go back and had a look at their website - it all looks good but would like to know which glenn / dell is best or main field. We have the Diablo 600 so need a bit of space and don't want to feel too close to the next tent.

any advice apprieciated

We are going next weekend, we went and had a look round before we booked and its lovely, most of the areas have nice secluded pitches, the one we liked the least was the Cedar Lawn, that seemed quite open but it certainly had plenty of space for large units. We are booked onto South park - right in the corner - in an area that has just three pitches by themselves surrounded by trees and as there are three families in our group it will be like being pitched by ourselves. The dell seemed to be very secluded as well as Rabbits Grove.

The staff were excellent when we booked they helped us to select the right pitch- if you give them a ring and tell them the size of you tent they will be able to recommend the best area for your needs.

thank you Karin - let me know how you get on. When I was a kid Mum and Dad used to take me there with the caravan.many happy summer was spent on the tennis court and in the pub drinking coke in the pub.
oh and switching the pitch number markers (when it was dark) which used to be Pitch and put markers - oops!
Hubby likes quiet sites and I've had a bit of trouble convincing him this will be fine - the pool, pub and tennis courts make him think it will be rowdy.
I don't have the same fear.
Now I just hope they have pitches available in August

have a great time

Hi Slinks, we've been there a number of times and love it!

We're more into the "quiet" side of camping. We don't have kids (well not until December), and don't want to pitch amongst a chorus of kids enjoying themselves outside and nor would we want to pitch up next to a group of lads beering it up with some Ibiza Sounds pumping out over the rear parcel shelf of their Novas...

But, for us we always try to get in the Dell or the Rabbit Grove.  The Dell has small groups of pitches around a little track almost within a thicket of trees (some pitches are on their own) and they tend to limit the number of children, and then the Rabbit Grove is more of a rectangle mini-field but it's backed up against the small "woods" and has plenty of foliage around making the appearance of being sectioned off from the other areas. Obviously everyone's got their own preferences, but give it a go. I'm sure it's probably changed a fair bit over the years but come back and let us know!

Stayed there for half term week in May -- excellent site-- we originally wanted to book electric pitch but as they were full we had non electric in the Dell.

Excellent, quiet, spacious, secluded pitches and this was half term.

Being in the Dell is the furthest from the pub and large childrens play area but to be honest if you was in any of the other fields the experience would be the same. The most attractive, secluded, quietest talked about pitch is in the Dell.

Tell OH to go for it he will not be disappointed and dont forget to take your bikes as there are some lovely Norfolk lanes to explore.

So go for it slinks you will be glad you did.

thanks for our replies - they have emailed me to say no pitches available in August so I've emailed back and asked if they have last week in July - I'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi,

We are probably a little late in view of your last post, but we can echo all of the positive comments that you have seen above.

It was our first 'proper' week away in a caravan, and we loved it.  My family are in East Anglia and we went there so that we could visit everybody.  As we had never towed before, the journey took forever, but when we got there it was well worth it. I think we were in South Park, but we did not see a bad pitch on there - they are all nice, and loads of foliage to break the site up.

We did not use the pool as it was very early in the season, but the pub was nice with good food,  and we even managed to win the music quiz!

If that is the area that you want to go to, you will find it hard to find a better site.

Regards

Ali & Neil

I emailed them last night but unfortunately they are fully booked through the summer. LIked that one because my grandparents are in Acle just down the road, have now just booked one in Thurne no where near as many facilities but looks nice enough
