Is it ok to camp anywhere in the Lake District above a certain height.Ive always wanted to camp by a remote lakeland tarn.I understand it is not ok on farmland in the valleys etc but have noticed the odd tent high up in the fells.

i've wild camped at great moss, which is by sca fell pike, basically i would look at the height there and see. i would recommend great moss, river with drinkable water, and rocks for a toilet!
