Hi all

I find picking a campsite so so difficult to do! I could do with some assistance from experienced heads. I need a campsite (tent) in the area mentioned which is:

Near a pub
By a river
Clean facilities
Walking distance to a town/village
A nice feel to it (sorry for the vagueness!)

Did you mean Herts (Hertfordshire is in the South East, nowhere near Worcs/Gloucs) or did you mean Herefordshire?

Might be able to help with Herts but don't know the other area, I'm afraid....

Tudor Patch isn't walking distance from town - but would be good other than that.

There's that one in Ross on Wye. Near an industrial estate, but don't let that put you off. Did you need the river for fishing, as it's not on a river, just a stream with a fishing lake.

.....the river is on my criteria just cos i like the sound of flowing water close by. Townsend does look ideal, also Tewkesbury Abbey. All suggestions welcomed. I must admit the industrial estate did kind of deter me away from ROWye

Well we walked - along the river in either direction you soon get to villages (both with nice pubs!), or you can walk back along the road to the village you drive through on the way.

I guess "walking distance" is pretty subjective
