Hi,

We have booked our first weekender, to Callow Top near Ashbourne...

Has anybody been there? is it ok??

Great for a fun weekend.  Ashbourne lovely village.  Try the old chippy cafe.

We have two small kids, who do noise and will hopefully be tired out by nightime...not to be bothered by noise later on.

Is it a clean site, with good facilities?... it's always difficult to tell from the website etc.

I'm getting a wee bit worried that it may be too noisy. Our kiddies are only 4 and 2. Noise is ok during the day and early evening, but I wouldn't want too much noise, for the kids sake, after that.

LOL - bit more than a village! It's on my work patch and gets bigger by the day with all the over priced housing developments  the young locals struggle to get their foot on the housing ladder otherwise smashing area and nice campsite (visited to do a work visit)

the campsite is great for kids and adults ,my two love it 3yrs and 8yrs old sleep well at night,can be a bit noisey early evening but camp feilds are away from play areas and most people keep to the 11pm rules whch they inforce with a man on patrol at night.cafe is nice for a snack and entertainment when the weather is against you,pub is great for a meal or just a beer.if you want some photos of the site drop me an email and i,ll send you some.we go there quite regular as its not far from us but the kids keep asking to go back.the shop on site is A1 you can buy most items includeing camping stuff.would recomend it to anybody.have a look at my gallery pics ,they are just around the feilds.we always stay in feild six as there is plenty of room for the kids to play outside the tents.

I am originally from this neck of the woods, but I haven't been to this site. It is often the case that you tend not to camp on your doorstep, when you live close by. We now live in Lincolnshire, but Derbyshire is in my blood.
