Evening all! I am after a campsite as close to Manchester as possible pref on the peak district side - Glossop / Stockport / Macclesfield kind of area. I am after 1 / 2 nights stay with the intention of going into Manchester during the day (not a greenery trip unfortunately!) Can anyone suggest a good site?! thank you!

Coopers field in Edale, nr the station that takes you to piccadily on the train and the Nags Head is a great pub, nice food good ale. there is a couple of other sites as well and you would be best ensuring that you book as they all get quite busy.

good luck.

Hi Mushy,

I checked out this site for someone last week as it isn't far from where I live.  It is in Poynton which is on the Stockport/Macclesfield border.  The site is called Elm Beds and is off the A6 Stockport to Buxton Road - see this thread Lyme Park - Disley, Cheshire
