Hi

can anybody recommend a site on the Norfolk coast with toilets and showers, for a weekend in July with a campervan, awning and 2 or 3 small tents?  Within walking distance of beach and/or town/village would be great but not neccessity.

After searching the listings I found a couple but their websites dont allow same sex parties and we are five females.  We are mature ladies in our 30s, 40s and 50s and dont want to run riot, just want a chilled weekend with BBQs, drinks and leaving the husbands at home!!

thanks in advance

Have you tried Stiffkey? Not near a beach as such but near the creek/watersedge and the Red Lion in the village

I decided to drop Manor Farm an email to see if they would accept us as it says they dont accept same sex parties.  They swiftly responded to say that our group would be ok, which is great.  As our weekend is weather dependent though we dont want to book just yet, so keep those suggestions coming so we can get some backups in case Manor Farm is full.

The C. and C. Club site at West Runton is one of the best in the whole area , The wife and I would recomend it to anyone. You can take several lovely walks including one to the beach at East Runton.   I have seen some flack dished out to the club on here but as pensioners on the basic pension it suits us.  And we still think the site and it`s facilities are the best.    Muckalo.

I hadnt thought of Oulton Broad....   I'll check it out.

And somebody I know also recommended the C&C site at West Runton - they spend a lot of time there.  I'll give it a look.

thanks for all the recommendations - all we are waiting for now is a change in the weather... (!!) and we can make some firm plans - hopefully one of these sites will have spaces.

I have managed to find a site that would take a group of 'mature' females, but the females in question are starting to get 'wet feet!!'.  The heavy rain is putting them off and as I am trying to encourage them into taking up camping I dont want to put them off - which is easily done in a tent in torrential rain!   We are keeping an eye on the weather and if it dries up a bit will go (if they have space!) but if not we are putting it off and hoping for better weather in September.

Thanks to everybody who recommended - I will still need to find a site later in the year so it has all come in really handy.

burnham deepdale campsite  (nxt to burnham market between hunstanton and sheringham) - beautiful place, great showers, family room, disabled room, voted best hostel the other year , own mini mart, tasty cafe...friendly service...

ideally located to visit more of the trad. seaside resorts, plus lots of great scenery and walks, such as blakney, holkham beach (so tranquil and unspoilt)...
