Hi all , just got back from our big holiday , lakes , Scotland and Yorkshire . The satellite suitcase system worked in the lakes , but not in Scotland ( but there's a good reason for this ) and it worked in Yorkshire after i fixed it .
What happened was , when setting it up in Scotland in a wooded area the Lnb screw end came loose and broke the connection off the circuit board Doh not realising this we just thought it wouldn't work where we were pitched .
We only found out it was broken when i couldn't get it working at Yorkshire . The good news is that there was someone at Scotland using exactly the same system as us so it looks like the small dish will work that far up the country . I did find it very easy to tune in to the satellite .

How ironic would it be....we invent tv and cant recieve it in Scotland, and how funny would it be if say a Scot invented tar and the roads north of Edinburgh were crap, that would be soooo funny, and wouldnt it be ironic if oil were to be discovered in Scottish waters but Scotland were to get little of the benefits......

Hey....wait a minute...!!!

At least you managed to convey this using an English invention - the internet! Maybe if they weren't caravanning they could have travelled by train or a plane with a jet engine... both English of course!

As for TV, I've always found card games to be a good alternative. I do not know where they were invented, though.

just had our best hols ever in this fine country, stayed at the gart, tv wasn't too clever, but agree about why do you need it?  scenery is stunning, going back up end of sept, altho not gart this time, (personal reasons) and we won't give a hoot if tv is poor, was to knackered at night time to watch it much anyhows, where does all that pure fresh air come from?

cheers brin
