We pick our caravan up (first ever!) in a few weeks and thought we'd try somewhere local for our first time away. Can anyone recommend any where easy to get to within about 40 mile radius of Bradford? Husband hasn't towed before so the easier the better.
Thanks

Just got back from 3 rivers site at Clitheroe, it was our second outing. We got our van just over a week ago from Hull, it was our 1st time towing, we towed it 1.6 miles to a campsite for our 1st night LOL!!!!!!

Not too sure how far away from you it would be.................but Burton Constable is lovely, you can pull up by the lake which is more like a river and have open views across to Burton Constable Hall, with cattle roaming etc the site is a few miles from Hornsea.

Try Upwood Holiday Park, just above Haworth. Well set out. Lots of space to manouvre if you've not done it before. Check listing on this site for details.
Have a look at these 3 sites. They all look nice, and depending on where abouts in Bradford you live, shouldn't be very far at all. I'm originally from Shipley so know the area quite well. Wherever you chose, hope you enjoy yourselves and your new caravan!
Thanks so much for all the great suggestions. Can't wait to get out and about.
In reply to marpin - Riverside Meadows is the only site I know well. My family had a caravan (tourer then static) there for years when I was a kid. That's where I got the caravaning bug from! I loved it when I was younger so I'm looking forward to introducing my husband and kids to it.
I agree with Briarose Burton Constable at Sproatley ideal for first timers good play area for kids on site pub close to Hornsea plus if it goes belly up you wont find more helpful staff anywhere read reviews

I've just looked at the Burton Constable website. It looks lovely. Seems easy enough to get to for us. Might be booking that soon. I like the idea of the lake on the site too. My parent's will be visiting us wherever we end up so the lake will keep my dad happy.
Glad you mentioned helpful staff. We're getting a bit nervous about setting everything up once we get there. It's good to know there'll be someone to help us if we need them!
Try YCP York Caravan Park (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6567) - it's a new site that opened this year. I would say that though as I'm the owner! - it is in the White Rose finals for 'Best Newcomer To Tourism' though, so must be doing something right!
