hi just a quick question to you all. where is the best place to go camping that has actually got something in the area to do, ie castles and shops and theatres that is not all kid related. our kids are grown up and although we don,t dislike them we would really like to go somewhere thats not all about kids. any ideas?

this one looks nice Lancaster is a great place to go and not too far from where you are

Went up Northumberland last year, castles galore, Alnwick is a fantastic town. Unspoilt beaches loads of places to go.

Berwick on tweed to the north, Holy Island Lindasfarne, Newcastle to the south, Hadrians wall , Metro centre, Beamish museum is amazing.

Alnwick and Tynemouth were my favourite places and will definately be going back.

What about somewhere near Warwick? one of the best castles in the country and Stratford for the theatre, also a very nice part of England with many pretty villages. If you want a cheap site, there is one at Wellesbourne which is handily situated for Stratford, Warwick and Leamington.
