Hello All, I'm still on the Cornwall/North Devon search (fishing/near a beach etc) but I was just wondering if there are other parts of the UK coastline that are good for surfing/body-boarding?
Perhaps after years of heading off down the M5, there might be somewhere else to head for.
If you do know anywhere, is there a local campsite you'd also recommend.
Thanks, murfus

A bit far away,....but - The Isle Of Tiree (4 hour ferry from Oban) looks great for surfing - atlantic swell, warm gulf stream sea, the sunniest place in the uk !
Also - St Ouen's Bay on the island of Jersey is supposed to be "the best place in britain to surf"....their words not mine
murfus.. i misread your location. I don't think Wittering/bracklesham is guaranteed surf enough to travel from oop north. There's a webcam on the http://www.shore.co.uk/ website.
Bracklesham bay is nice... from the shoreline outwards
Try Cayton Bay, North East near Scarborough, we stay at the Flower of May usually and Newgale Beach (4 ish miles from St Davids, Pembrokeshire) - we were there 3 weeks ago and stayed at the camp site opposite the beach - Newgale Campsite. You can hire surf canoes there too.
Regards
