Have any of you camped at 'Woodlands park'  in Devon.  It looks great for families, we have 3 children 9,7 and 2.

Love to hear any comments.

Sarah

Hi Sarah - I went to Woodlands and the kids loved it - the only thing I could say I was unhappy with was being closely pitched to neighbours - I think they like to get as many as they can on but if you are planning to use a EHU then you will be on a different part of the site to where we were - I did not let this put me off - the kids want to go back - the showers and facilites are clean and if you have cool blocks they have freezers for refreezing and a laundrette type room.  There is a van that comes around in the evening selling fresh eggs bacon milk bread etc but we nipped into Totnes and used Morrisons.

Just one thing if you do go - take a nit comb and some headlice lotion as a precaution - I always check my kids hair when they have been interacting with so many kids, running around the park on all the slides its possible to pick up headlice as mine did but I was prepared so they were removed before they had chance to make a home.

The Water slides were a hit with my kids as was the Falconry display!

Thanks for comments and advice.  Being squeezed too close to other tents would be annoying but hopefully we would get the one with the EHU.

We live near Woodlands so never camped there but it is a fantastic place to go - the kids will love the adventure park and you are also so close to so many beaches.  It has a very good reputation locally for being a respectable family business.

Cant comment on the caravan/camping side of the place as we were staying in a lovely site near Dartmouth but the day out to Woodlands was well worth the money. Watch yourself on some of the rides/slides as I got some friction burns being the stupid dad, obviously I didnt admit it to the family and suffered in silence

Lovely campsite, I grew up in Paignton which is nearby. The Park is great fun for all, make sure the kids have long sleeves and long trousers on for the slides or they may get friction burns on knees and elbows. The campsite was clean and we never found it to be overcrowded when we have gone but it wasn't high season. Showes and toilets ok and laundry room ok too. I found the food to be quite expensive but it is quite a way out so hardly surprising.

If you are there during Regatta week there are Red Arrows and Fireworks so the town gets mega busy. Paignton, Torquay and Brixham also have regattas with fireworks which is just across the ferry or drive round via Totnes who have an Elizabethan market on Tuesdays.

Make sure you take the time to go to Paignton Zoo and say hello to the Elephants. they unfortunatly lost the giraffes last year in a fire but may have replaced them by now.

Hope you have a great time.

Julie
