We stayed at Old Barn, very nice, smallish and quiet, plenty of room but no pool.

There were quite a few children there who seemed to be having a good time, but I could only see a small play area for younger children. There is a large pond with ducks and some geese and roosters that pipe up every so often! There might be more by the barn itself but didn't look there.

Hi anne, its colin, just back from ireland, first couple of nights stayed at camac valley just out side of dublin, then we went down to the r. kerry stayed at mannix point what a nice little site so friendly [ the owner mortimer so helpful ] used it as a base, went round the r.kerry through killarney park never seen so many buses in my life.

Visited the dingle but dont think it is so pretty as the r.kerry went up to slea head, we are hoping to go back sometime in september we would like to go further north on the west side [ county mayo-up to giants causeway ] all in all its been terriffic except as you can guess the weathers not been very kind.

Regards colin

Ninham. Big site but very spread out. They never will pitch ypou nextdoor to someone else if there is space. The pitches are the hugest I have ever experienced. Could have got 2 frame tents on ours and still had space!!  Lovely heated outdoor pool. Also most pitcheds are perimeter pitches with just space out in front of you. A few are hedged.

New play area if you need it. Toilets and showers good (not fantasticly modern but spotlessly clean tidy with shelf and hooks - note plural with hooks). Much better in Meadowbrook than the Orchard.  The Campsite is actually on the outskirts of Shanklin (walkable) and set down a lon driveway. You really do feel you are miles from anywhere with some lovely countryside views. Lots ofd bunnies to accompany you on your walk to the loo block to brush your teeth on the evening. Meadowbrook is open now, don t think the Orchard is open until Peak weeks but could be July.  The 2 campsites are divided by a beautiful walk between 2 fishing lakes and a cottage (which they rent out). Its about 5 minutes stroll between them and the pool. Also Morrissons is 3 minutes if that by car or a short walk, so really handy for supplies.

We have just come back from our second trip and have to say the 200 pitches had 9 of us on them!!! Obviously it does get busier. We have also been in mid August when it was full and was amazed by the space, even then!!

I really cant recommend this site high enough. I am tempted to book again for our 2 weeks in mid August (if they have room)!!

Highly recommend.

Hi I am going to 'Southland' (IOW) in a few weeks with my parents and the site looks brill. No pool though but is within a short Biking distance to Shanklin and Sandown which are sure to have some.

I agree with Ninham we went high season (28/7)last summer for a fortnight & it was great, so much space on our pitch ,we had a big khyam tent ,a day tent & a people carrier & still tons of room. The pool was lovely ,the kids had great fun & made loads of friends (but it was never too noisy),the only thing I found slightly dissapointing compared to other sites we've been to was the showers ,always had to queue, not always hot, sometimes no water & one was just a trickle down the wall! but the rest more than made up for this and I would definately go again(if they had new shower blocks I'd probably never go anywhere else!!)

We liked the look of Southland too. Had a drive around and nearly considred going there but it was the no pool that prompted the thumbs down.
