Hi

We're off to Cornwall this weekend for a week, I know the five day forecast doesn't look too good but we are hopeful!

I've contacted the campsite to check they are not under water as we are here in Derbyshire and they said not and that they had a field full of tents/campers!

Can anyone in Cornwall help me overcome the fact that I think we're probaly making a terrible mistake!

TIA

Mizzog

Nah! Ya're never making a mistake going to Cornwall no matter what the weather

Course, ya wanna think yourself lucky coz there are two weeks that are almost positively guaranteed to have wet weather there.......this year that'll be......

crystal ball cartoons, crystal ball cartoon, crystal ball picture, crystal ball pictures, crystal ball image, crystal ball images, crystal ball illustration, crystal ball illustrations

the last two weeks in August.......coz we're there

Cornwall can be having the best weather on record but virtually the minute we arrive.......washout

We still love it, I just feel sorry for any other poor saps there the same time as us.

You go and have a lubberly time! Rain or shine, there's no place quite like it

ROFLMAO!

Thanks Hippy Chick,

Made me feel a little better - not bothered about rain, just don't want to leave flooded Derbyshire and end up worse off at something that resembles Glastonbury!

I think I'll pack the woolies though and leave the bikini behind:0)

Hiya Mizzog

We live in Bude and we've not really suffered that badly with the weather recently, compared to some!

Lovely day yesterday, but it's been a bit hit and miss today.

It's supposed to be raining all day Saturday but showers Sunday according to our local forecast but hey, what do they know?!

Cornwall is the sort of place that if it's raining on the North coast head South for the sun.  It's beautiful here, whatever the weather so just enjoy your time down here and have fun!

We are off to cornwall too for a week on Saturday!! - as i type its pouring down with rain....again

Off to Magic cove but as the forecast is so bad i am looking for a nice dry lodge to rent instead!! - i know i am chicken, but i love camping when the sun is shining, not when its like this!

Does anyone know of any lodges/log cabins at reasonable rates?

Hiya rodauk

Try Forda Lodges in Bude.  You may have to 'google' it.

They are lovely places and not too far from Bude beaches.

Not sure of the prices though!

Good luck,

Sorry to hear that rodauk.  Fully booked already eh......Bude's gonna be busy this year I think?!

Not really sure of any other lodges in our area but if I were you I'd go to google again and type in "Holiday lodges in Cornwall" and see what you can find.

www.dogfriendlybritain.co.uk might be useful too!

Good luck.

It's sunny with blue skys here in Falmouth as I type but when it rains it rains. No flooding around this area. Got the heating on so I'd bring a woolie or two.

We are camping in Derbyshire in 24 days so please dry our by then. All the best for your trip.

We have just come back from a week at Magic Cove! The weather was very mixed, but only two really bad days. Our awning had 6" of water in on one day, but the water went down very quickly. The other day was very windy! we put on our extra awning strap, and hoped for the best. Two people in tents had to go home, but their tents were not pegged down very well, and all their stuff got wet. We have booked to go again next year!

We also had two dogs with us, they loved swimming at Watergate Bay. We liked the food at the Phoenix!. Yummy pasta!

What pitch are you on at Magic Cove? We were on no 7.
