Can anyone recommend a campsite around the Glossop area? Haven't had any luck finding anything on the search facility here. We want somewhere that accepts dogs & where we can have EHU.
We're looking to go for 2 nights the weekend after next. This will be our dogs first experience of camping so we don't want to go too far just in case it's a disaster!
If not Glossop, anywhere within an hour of Audenshaw (near Ashton Under Lyne) would be fine...
Thanks all.

As Kate says, you will have to go a little further into Derbyshire. I live in the Glossop valley and I am unaware of any sites hereabouts, but there are several within half an hour or so drive. There's one not far from Chapel en le Frith I was looking at.
However, warning: come evening, take something for the midges if you want to leave the safety of the mesh in your Diablo - they come at you with knives and forks in these parts!
There is a site in Glossop itself, Windy Harbour Farm Hotel Caravan and Camping. It is on the road out of Glossop, Woodhead Road, which (I believe) eventually leads to Crowdon.
I found it one afternoon when I was walking around Glossop. I didn't get onto the site to have a close look around as there was a Llama (I kid you not) strutting back and forth behind the entrance gate to the camping field. However, there were a few tents on the field, so it must be safe to enter!
From what I could see, the facilities (toilets etc.) seemed to be built onto the back of the hotel and consisted of toilets, showers and dish washing facilities, but again, as I was only passing I did not take a close look.
