My 18 yr old daughter and 5 other girls want to go camping in Cornwall for one week in August. My questions are:

  • will a UK site allow 6 18 yr olds ?
  • does anyone know a site near a beach ( and a pub !!) that will have space - preferably close to St Ives

Any advice / guidance , as always , gratefully received.

Thanks

This takes me back to when I was 19 a couple or 20 years ago!

We were 3 lads with a frame tent wanting a campsite in Newquay, and found it very hard to find one that took same sex groups. After spending ages trying different sites we spent one night in what was just a basic field. The next day we went to the Tourist information office who found us a gret site just outside Newquay.

Us youngsters had our own field so we didn't disturb the other campers.

Now, I'd use the campsite search function and then telephone the sites to check in advance.

Yea I think you may have a problem. I'm 19, and I tried to book a site with me and a few mates (22 and 17) but nope wouldn't take us.

I find it hard trying to find a site for me and my 14 year old Sister when she wants to come..

Dunno, you may find somewhere. Just do some phoning around ya never know..

You may have more of a problem actually finding a site with pitches free at all so late on (well, not in real time, but things book up so quickly!). I booked a site in Pembrokeshire last month and I had to ring loads to get one with space.

try St Ives Bay in Hale, its not far from St Ives , it on the beach and has some what they call unbookable pitches which they allocate on a first come first served basis.

Not sure if they will take teenage groups but its worth a try.
