We are planning on going camping the weekend of the 20th July (Friday). We plan to set off at around lunchtime and will be in the Lakes by about 2pm at the latest. Does anybody have any experience of just turning up to campsites? As this is the last day of the school term, do you think it would be better to find somewhere we can book, or should be risk just arriving and hope that there is a pitch available??
We are planning on going to the Lake District / cumbria!
