I know most of you will not have heard of many of these bands (yet!) but thats the point....its a festival for new talent/new music.

To name a few.......last year a relatively unknown Scottish band headlined just before their debut album was released. They were The Fratellis. Their set was the entire Costello Music album  ......brilliant!!    (see here)

Also appeared were The Enemy who are now enjoyng chart success (here - some strong language though)

and a few years ago another band relatively unknown outside Yorkshire appeared..... they are The Kaiser Chiefs.

So if you enjoy good music and you enjoy time on the beach its well worth a look and it`s TOTALY FREE !!

Hi Rickster

Ive been thinking about this for a while. I like the Alabama 3.
Its also a nice idea pulling a load of fresh acts at one place. Dya know anything about the set up - are the bogs ok? Can you take booze?

I should probably have another look at the website but any info welcome

cheers

The bogs are the usual portable tardis type things although public loos are just a stroll along the beach in either direction.

There is a bar on the beach......usually to the right of the stage where there is also usually a big screen facing that direction so you don`t miss anything!

With it being a public beach you can take your own supplies but please try to avoid glass bottles etc for safety reasons and please dispose of all empties & litter responsibly

One of this years acts appeared on The Friday Night Project last week .....
.... Amy MacDonald, whose debut album was released this week.

Hello I've been to beached for about the last 3 years now and it's absolutely great. Coming over from Hull and my usual campsite Cayton Village Caravan park might be full. We can only stay the Sat so can't book. Can anybody recommend any other campsites in the area that might be available. We're not bothered about fancy facilities, toilets and a water tap will do us. hxx

THis looks really good fun -  we were planning to go as we had it in our heads it was next weekend. But then it turned out that it was this weekend when we are busy already - most disappointing! Although worked out in OH's favour as he can now play some crazy 6 a side cricket, also in Scarborough.

We will get it in the diaries early next year! Have a great time to all that are going :o)
