Going to Cornwall on Friday 27th July and have site arranged from 28th in Marazion. Does any one know anywhere cheap near the Eden project where we could put up for the Friday night? We thought we would do Eden on the Saturday and go on to Marazion after that- only about 50 miles so will break the journey from Worcestershire. We are C and C club members but they will not allow a 1 night stop.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Caroline

There are loads of sites around that area, (we go to ones near Mevagissey as a rule), and many of them don't mind one night stops BUT......it might be tricky getting in this late in the day as the sites thereabouts do book up awfully quick!

We've had to book at Tregarton Park for our two weeks in August as we left it too late for Pentewan or Heligan Woods. Sounds lovely though, so looking forward to it.

Best bet, is to do the campsite search thingy 23 and type in St. Austell for the town and have a browse. There's l-o-a-d-s.

Good luck. Lovely part of the country.

Update! Just did a search with St. Austell and naff all comes upBest bet to type in Mevagissey OR....just do Cornwall under the county search.

Did see that there's a pitch available at Tregarton Park for your one night but it's not that cheap at £21.95 for just two peeps and your trailer tent and car. Sorry...did me best

But.....there's another one called Court Farm in St. Stephen, St. Austell, (must be a liccle village part under St. Austells postal addy), and that might be cheaper. Couldnt do an online quote for ya though, ya'll need to do that one yourself.

Loads more if ya've got a few hours to browse and enquire though

All the best.

Do try Court Farm, I made an enquiry about staying there this summer and the man I spoke to was sooooo nice and helpful, he sent me the brochure by return and it gets good reviews on this site.   We did not book in the end as wanted a bit more going on for the children.  On the brochure it tells you they will give you info about the back entrance into the Eden project to save on queing.

Thanks everyone- have now found my big sites book (hiding under the sofa- now why didn't I think to look there first!!) and are probably going to a CS site called the Innis Inn and Fly Fishery at Penwithick -£16.50 for the night including hook up. But I will also try Court Farm as I like the idea of avoiding the queues at Eden Project.

Thanks to everyone for the help.

Hi

Definitely give Court Farm a ring, we just stayed there for a week and they weren't too busy, two lots of campers came in the week while we were there for one night stops.  Lovely place, marvellous owners who indeed will give you a map from Court Farm on the back roads to avoid the queues.
