Hello, anyone know of any cheapish sites no more than an hours drive (in friday rush hour) from east london. prefrebly not over the qe2 bridge as that can take an hour on its own. anywhere in essex? no more than £15 a night, would like a shop and maybe a cafe on site.

thanks

mose.

Not much to do in Southminster to do. (I live 10 mins away)

Burnham, you have the water, marina etc. Maldon has the Hythe and plenty of individual shops to mooch around.

Key in 'Loughton' or 'Chingford' into the Camp Site Search by town.

PS There is little difference between the 'rush hour' and any other hour in east London on a Friday!!!  '...about an hours drive .....usually means about 2 miles!!!

Seriously though, it does matter which way you are going.  Going towards London in the mornings and away in the afternoon/evenings is very congested.  But the opposite directons at these times is usually flowing.
