I have just returned from a very quiet site and it just wasn't for us.

I have 2 kids 3 and 5 years old and they are not wild and they are pretty well behaved but kids are generaly noisy.

I like to play some music and I like to drink and blether, but I am considerate and I only make noise on noisy sites.

It's nice if the kids have a park which is safe and within sight, and they have safe flat roads to go on scooters and bikes etc.

I like clean facilities and a bar where the family can have a meal is a bonus.

Has anyone been to a site in Scotland/Northern England which might meet my criteria?

If anyone else is interested in similar sites I could recommend Shell Bay in Fife which is let down a bit by the swing park for the kids and Kinkell Braes in St Andrews in Fife which was ok but also let down by the kids park.

Is there anyone from Fife I can chat with?

I think that Rosneath Castle CP will be ideal for you. I have not stayed there myself but I live just along the road from it and we have friends in the residential part of the site so I am out there every other day. We use the Bistro and the Pub section ourselves.

The site itself caters well for children with both an indoor area for Toddlers and an outdoor area for older kids. All the main children's areas are next door to the Touring Pitches.

And ofcourse the sun always shines in Rosneath.

Except when it is raining.
