Hi Rockingal, we came back on the 14th July and we had a great time, there is a shower/toilet block, washing up, elsan point, disabled with baby access all new for this year, there is even a bath in both mens and ladies, which we found invaluable as our daughters aged 5 & 2 are not keen on showers. The touring section is at the back of the site and it is exposed to all the elements, wind & rain, we had both on a few nights and our tent/canopy & windbreak stood up to it, someones Gazebo didnt!! just use delta pegs. The entertainment, pool, play park is a few mins walk away. we were forcast lots of rain but were very lucky and only got two mornings of it, the rest was either hot or overcast but warm. We got to the site quite early 9.00am they told us to go for a walk and come back at ten and we could pitch, normally they dont let you noon. we were pitched and on the beach by 1pm.
Places to go, we went to the Tiger Zoo at Sandown, Amazon adventure, just outside shanklin, and Alum Bay, the needles, all very good, the beach at shanklin is lovely, went on most days. You can walk into the town from the site, across from the site entrance is some steps, you can take the shortcut into town.
Hope you have a good time, we loved it that much we are going again next year.
ps check out my review
