Hi everyone

We have just been camping in Beadnell Bay (Bamburgh) and it was fantastic to be on the beach. 2 minute walk from tent to sand.  Kids (& OH and Dog) loved being in the rock pools and on the sand.  We loved it so much so, we want to do it again this weekend, but somewhere else.  Not that we did not like Beadnell, but we do like to try different places each time.

We live in Sunderland, near Newcastle and really dont want to travel miles and miles. Having looked around the site, Devon seems to have the best beaches, but I am not going to drive all that way for 2 nights.  Anyone got any good suggestions of a campsite close to a beach, maybe somewhere on the East coast, lover than us?

Oh and without being too fussy, one with a shower too - you know what sand is like lol.

How about somewhere like Scarborough or Whitby or Skegness even all seaside towns not sure about specific campsites but you could do a search at the top of the page - I would be quite insterested in what you find too as we are also in Newcastle and going a little way south would be appealing to us too.

We are going to Crosslaw nr. St. Abbs in August and Mablethorpe in September and hopefully somewhere inbetween so like I say would be interested in what you find.

Sandy Beach in Anglesy. Absolutley fantastic, although I believe that for the tent camper it's been alter since we went. It was approx 4 yrs ago now, but we literally pitched out tent 5 metres from the small drop leading to the crescent shaped cove that left a remarkabel view when the tide was out, not forgetting a great place for everyones kids to use. I'm led to belive now though that static carvans have been placed on the drop therefore taking away that view in the morning. also if that is the case (and you've got kids) you can't see tham as easily. Having said that the facilites could'nt be faulted and it was a great base to explore the island.

Sandy Beach in Anglesy looks lovely, but a little too far, just for the weekend.  Certainly did not fancy wild tening on the beach, with my look, I would get swept away with the tide in the middle of the night!!!  lol

I did the search and most places near Whitby were full or only took Caravans.  We ended up going to York House. Think you might like it there Dhaysi.  There was only 2 reviews, but thought we would give it a go.  I will be adding my review shortly.  5 minuste drive from Whitby, 2 minutes drive from Robin Hoods bay - had to take car as we stopped all day and took loads of stuff, but would be a nice walk too.

This site was taken over by new owners 2 weeks ago and I ment the lady owner and her daughter - Very nice people!  No major problems with the site.  Gonna have a shower now and need some aftersun on ASAP lol, But will add my review later on.

Hi, we've just come back from Filey Brigg and although it's not ON the beach it is extreemly close.  It's on the top of the cliffs, overlooking the bay with stunning views, and a 5 minute walk to the beach or town centre.  They take tents but you might need to book at it is extreemly popular.

Earlier in the season, we stayed at Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes, again in close proximity to the beach. It's right beside Pleasure Island and a path follows the beach to the centre of town.  We didn't think a Haven site would be our cup of tea but as our teenage daughter & friend were coming with us, we thought we should try to book somewhere with things for them to do. We enjoyed our stay, it wasn't too rowdy (although it was only May) and we would visit again.
