Hi All, just decided this evening to drive to the coast tomorrow - then decided that we would try and camp somewhere too.  I'm having trouble finding a campsite in Bournemouth, or very close by, does anyone know of one?  Tried the campsite search on here but no joy.  Not fussy, but have small children in tow...

We were at Back of beyond last weekend which is an adults only but to get to it we had to drive past Shamba which looked very good for kids.

It's near both Poole and Bournemouth off A31

There was also Oakdeane just yards away too.

I live in Bournemouth and there are a lot of campsites fairly close to the beach...mostly between 15 mins to 30mins drive away..  As some have already suggested Christchurch Poole, some others Verwood, Matchams Ringwood there is quite a few to look at with search campsite.

Hope you find somewhere...brilliant sunshine no rain...

Thanks everyone, we went for Shamba in the end, which was very good but expensive - will submit a review later.

PS Checked with the Tourist Information and they confirm that there are no campsites for tents anywhere in Bournemouth.

We camp in this area a lot and would recomend any of thesse 9 we have kids too)

Shamba, Merley Court (but they have moved there play area and its no longer visable from any of the pitches), Highly Recomend Lyton Lawn, Sandy Balls.

My Fav is Lyton Lawn with the use of the facilities at the sister park Shorfield Country Park. Just along the coast from Highcliff and mudeford.

There also forest edge but has gone down hill in my recent experience.
