Has anybody been fishing off the shoreline at this camp site just outside Oban. If so, can you tell me the best bait to use and where to get it. I was there last year but forgot to take my fishing gear. Chap I was talking to had caught Sea Bass, but I can't remember what bait he used.

Sorry - can't help with the bait however don't cast too far out or you might hook a scuba diver as there are usually quite a few folks out there diving on a large wreck that's directly out from the site!

Seriously though I'd also be interested in this answer as I might take the fishing tackle up with me next time I visit North Ledaig - it's possibly my favourite CC site.

Just got back from North Ledaig and noticed a few fishermen around the bay,one chap was fly fishing and seemed to be standing quite a way out so the water in front of the site is quite shallow (or was it low tide?) a few guys were using mackeral strip and some guys were using feathers, a popular spot seemed to be the entrance to Loch Etive up by the Connel Bridge right on the end of the runway ,another popular spot was down the channel between the mainland and Kerrera just south of the ferry landing ,anyway tight lines S/C
