I would still go - after all it is only for three nights, and provided that you are comfortable in you own unit, that is the big bit. Make sure that you take something for the kids to use as a loo - then if the loos are bad they don't need to use them. Adults can put up with worse than kids. Just make sure that you take some loo paper. Oh and if necessary a hygenic wipe. I know that they take a little while to work to full effect, but at least you can wipe the seat. If the showers are that bad then just boil a kettle and have a good wash. I've stayed on one site where the loos/showers should have been condemed. Got there on the Thursday - loos shabby and poorly lit. Two loos, and one shower for the site. No running hot water in the basin - just a dribble of cold. Managed to get a shower Friday morning - nothing to write home about. Later that day a note appeared saying that the shower was out of order. Stayed that way all weekend. We just got washed, and got a shower as soon as we got in.
Now I've just got back from one site, where a couple of reviews moaned about the showers/toilets. They where clean, plenty of hot water etc. OK the floor was a little muddy by the doors, but that was hardly surprising considering that iit rained at some point almost everyday, and the ground at the beginning of the week, when the rain was heavier, was rather muddy in places.
You can always try to have a look around before you book in. And if worse comes to worst and you find that after one night there you can not stay - you can always cut your losses and come home.

Hi
I have never visited Ocean Edge, but I do live just north of Morecambe and have 3 kids, one of whom is just 3 and loves Morecambe and the area. They have imported sand to make sandy beaches all along from Heysham through to Morecambe central, so on a nice day, the beach is great for kids/ digging/ playing ball games etc. The sea, when in, is never deep, however not recommended for more than a paddle as there are quick sands and people do still get stuck. Happy Mount Park at the north end of Morecambe prom is great for a sunny afternoon - take swim stuff as they have a splash park which suits all ages, plus plenty of pound coins for little rides on train, trampoline, carousel, indoor play. The area itself is beautiful with wonderful views of the lake district over the bay. Lancaster has a great park called Williamson park, which has butterfly house/small pets park, play area , cafe etc.
Try Fell Foot park at the south end of Windermere (Newby Bridge) for lovely walks along the lake, play area, row boat rental, or take ferry over the lake for steam train rides. Don't despair, you only have to sleep at Ocean Edge (which in anycase may be fine). The area has loads to offer.
