We've just come back from a 3 night stay in the Gower, on another site not the one mentioned and had a similar things happen.
Students, surfers and couples in groups of 8 upto 30, all pitching close together in clusters in small tents, singing and drinking until the early hour and some most of the day too. For a family of 6 (4 adults and 2 small children) it was very intimidating going to the loo and having to litterally walk through their camps to get there because they were so densely packed in. At one point (a whole day and a little more) over the weekend we couldn't even drive off the field as they'd pitched up right across the field and left no space what so ever to get cars through. Some even pitched up around the water points!!?? Making it an impossible task getting water. Cues to the showers were ten deep from 7pm till 9:30pm and it was really too busy for our small girls.
Come Sunday dinner time though the camp emptied and we had a whole field with just 4 tents, we thought it was because of weekend surfers/party go-ers meeting up for the surf in the Gower. I maybe an idea to avoid the weekends at sites very close to the popular surf beaches if your looking for a family break. I think the more popular beaches are Oxwich and Llangennith, I'm sure someone else here will know which ones are popular for surf down that way and point them out.
