It is a bit far south for me....so I have never been there but my advice is simple.......read the reviews  http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2664  .......take your time and get there safely.........take your time to set up all level......open a bottle of wine and enjoy.

well just got back and the weather has been awful!! We made the most of it though. The surrounding areas are great and lovely places to visit.  Bakewell is lovely and Haddon Hall is well worth a visit.  For any of you that like ghosties, Derby Goal and Ghost walks are half an hour away and the city has lots of places to visit.

The camp site itself is ok, not up to the usual CC standard,  but the kids loved it all the same. Make sure you bring a torch as it is very dark and lots of boulders around as i found out one night to my peril!!

Have stayed at Rivendale and it is a lovely site, for those in tents there is a minus as it is an old quarry the water can not drain away. When we stayed it was awful weather and because it is rock underneath.... the water can not drain away. So after that I always ask does your ground have good drainage.
