ive looked at the camp site search on here at sites around newcastle, but each one seems to have mixed reviews.

Im after a clean site, clean toilets essential, preferably a playground, not bothered about shop, etc, decent sized pitches and helpful wardens/staff as im on my own with 3 kids and need a bit of help setting up.

any ideas, i dont mind a 20 mile radius of newcastle, north south east or west lol

thanks

why is there so much month left at the end of the money?

Try the Sandhaven campsite in South Shields.

It is opposite the beach, next to a large park with (brand new) playground for the kids, a boating lake, a fairground and within a 15 minute walk of the metro station (which goes into central Newcastle)

Asda is a 10 minute walk away and there are plenty of shops to visit.

Hi
if its Newcastle in England then I have no idea, if its Newcastle in the north of Ireland then the site thats close is Tollymore, its a forest park campsite.
Its a basic site with no shop or play area for kids but a milk van comes in the morning with milk, juice, yogurt and maybe eggs, there is a small sub post office about 10 mins walk out the gate that does papers and the daily essentials and there`s a Tesco about 15-20 mins away in the car.
The toilet block is basic and cold, there is no security on the gates anyone can come and go day or night and due to a cut in funding the night watchman is gone so nights can be noisey and disruptive. There is a chip van which is on site most days but don`t rely on it.
The up side of this park is the setting, in the Mourne mountains, BEAUTIFUL and there are lovely walks, you can cycle and swim in the river my kids loved it, however there is no electric points for tents if you want that you go to the caravan area, try to fit your tent where a car would normally sit on the grass and park your car when the caravan would normally go.
Midge
