Please help.  We have a very large tent - outwell XXL and would like to visit a camp site near to skipton/north yorkshire area with a children's area and places where we can take the dog for long walks.

We would also need electric hook up and a field where we would not be too close to other tents as I have a son with autism who can get very loud.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Hi Mick,

That is the one that I have booked.  It will be his first time so I hope he likes it.

Thanks for the info though.  When I say he can get loud, people don't need to panic.  He just gets giddy with the dog but once in the tent he will watch his dvd's and play.  He is usually quiet then.

Hi AJ1308

Please dont make excuses for your son i have 2 boys with autism on my bus 2 of the nicest kids you could ever wish to meet, woe betide me if i change route or routine but im sure you know all about that

The site does have a large fishing lake located some 500yrds off site it is gated at both ends with a small paddock between, very nice to walk around has seats too also small wooded area

Food on site is spot on & they pull a good pint

have a good weekend

Hi AJ1308,

Have you looked at Masons Campsite at Appletreewick?

Helen the owner carefully plans out the camping field and allocates you a pitch so you know your not going to be packed in like sardines!

Nice level camping field and she does have some EHU on the field.

The site is next to the river with good walks to Bolton Abbey,Burnsall,Linton Falls and Grassington (that should wear the dog out!). Its not far from Leeds so very easy for you to get to.

There are two pubs 5mins up the road, both take kids and dogs and do food.

There are the usual facilities on site which are kept very clean and tidy.

Your lad should have a great time there, lots of open space for him to burn off some steam!

Val

Cheers Mick

Yes I do know all about routine  but like the awful Mum that I am, I occasionally throw him off balance and alter his routines because life is not all about that!

Also cheers Val - I have added that onto my favorites menu - if we EVER go again after this weekend - otherwise all the equipment might be on Ebay soon!

Will let you all know how it went and thanks to everyone for their help!
