Don't know whereabouts you are or if you've got kids - I can recommend a good one (lakes and river) near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire but it's adults only

Sumners ponds site in West Sussex, if you're lucky you can pitch right next to a lake. Do a Campsite search and then see the good reviews

Broadlands lake in Hampshire is great, some recording breaking catches have been made there.

skegness water leisure park.i just spent 5 days there good fishing lots of carp and a pitch next to the lake.

Lyons Park in Doreset is excellent - four lakes with caravan/camping around the edges of most lakes.  Very quiet with acres of mature woodland all round.  Not specifically adult only but nothing really suitable for kids unless they're into fishing.
