The Quiet Site at Ullswater - fab! Great on-site pub - not your usual club house - its in a barn and has the best log fire ever!
Can't remember cost - but too tight to pay anything approaching £30

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

been to the lakes once but didnt like it. you only get one hour in penrith to park your car and the locals arnt that friendly.had to rush around penrith evreythings expensive there but it is a tourist place so there bound to charge more.i think the lake district isnt tourist friendly at all.i find the lakes a rip off there even going to charge you to put a rowing boat on ullswater pure greed if you ask me there just after your money.i paid severn pound for a breakfast in pooley bridge. in a pub in northumberland i only paid 3.50 and it was much better will be going to that pub for christmas dinner .wont be going to the lakes again EVER

I wouldn,t suggest Devon or Cornwall then!!!!!!!!!  If these places didn,t charge a little more they would never survive, what industry is there in The Lakes other than tourism? I would pay loads for the sheer beauty of the place and quality food.

Surely £30 a night sites are in the minority?? Most are around the £20 mark that we have used.
