Shame to hear about this site having gone down the nick. It was the first site we went to. It's about an hour away from home, and we decided that it would be ideal if the kids didn't like camping. The only thing that I would say against it, having since visited other sites, was the tent field lacked even a tap, and the steps up to it were a tad on the steep side. Barring that the kids loved the pool, loo blocks were lovely and clean, and even the kids club was bearable, when you have two young kids.
Possible off to Clitheroe in a couple of weeks time - depending on where Richard is working. Last time we went there it did nothing but rain for the best part of the weekend. However, when it did stop we got a lovely walk along the river. Knowing the area we just headed to Burnley, as often the weather can be different on the other side of Pendle Hill.
