My partner and I are planning to go up to the lakes for 5 days in early October.  We have a fairly small tent, and are not after amazing facilities, but clean toilet and shower facilities are a must. A nearby pub that does reasonably priced good food would be a bonus too... beats trangia meals!

We are planning do do some walking including Scarfell, but would also like to see some of the area.  Can anyone recommend where to go, what to do etc?

Many thanks!

Hi

Have you used the search button at the top. There are loads of different sites on there. Maybe a good idea to choose an area (North Lakes, South Lakes etc) to narrow the search, when you have a short list then ask peoples opinion. Usually lovely up here during October, trees have just started to change colour now.

Have fun choosing...

Shelly

The Croft gets my vote, 200 mtrs from the village, or 90 seconds staggering distance.

Go and Enjoy

Stu.

Whinfell Hall is a lovely site just off the Buttermere valley.
