Hi

Can anyone recommend campsites near (ie within walking distance of) train stations in the South of England? I know about the Forestry Commission site at Ashurst in the New Forest already. Other suggestions would be much appreciated...Thanks.

GOM

Not in England, but in Pembrokeshire

Manorbier Country Park, right beside the railway station. Lovely site but not sure when it closes for the season. Close to Tenby

Hi, I see that you mention Ashurst in the New Forest, But Brockenhurst train station is only about 15 -20 minute walk from Hollands Wood camp site (also forestry commission site).  Whilst camping there we often used to walk to the station as there is a bike hiring facility alongside. There is also a very good bus service from station to campsite.

          good luck steve.

Can tell you up north but not south.

If you use Multimap :: Welcome and put in the postcode of any site you want to visit there is a section under the map that tells you where your nearest train station is.

Is Suffolk in your area? Carlton Park at Saxmundham, about 10 minutes walk from the station.

Whitemead Caravan Park at Wool, Sandwich Leisure Park, and Normans Bay C&CC site are three that spring to mind.
