Hiya everyone

Have to jump in on this thread.  Graffham is our favourite local site and we have stayed there loads of times.  We usually stay up behind the shower block and have a favourite pitch.  Luckily we havent had the problems that the OP had, just lovely breaks there, although when we stayed there at May Bank Holiday, the wind was howling and the rain was falling and we did go home a day early, probably something to do with hubbys footie team playing and being shown on TV.

We have loads of Graffham sand in our tent and we are planning on buying a tent with a SIG and wont be taking that to Graffham cos of the sand, but now also cos of the flints.

We all love this site, including our dog, and little DS and will have many more breaks there I am sure.

Hi caz
Yes this site as now become my favorite without a doubt
Val as now been in touch with the C&C Club complaints dept a young lady called Carrol. Her instructions are for us to photograph the damage to the ground sheets and bedroom and find out the replacement cost, then send them with anymore evidence to the camping and caravan club claims and insurance dept. when we lifted the ground sheets we found about six pieces of flint were the damage was done so we brought them home, we also reported it to the manager who could not be bothered to check it out, He just said you will not get any joy with a claim, but after a few strait words from me he did make a report before we left.
anyway we shall just have to wait and see, what type of club the C&C Club turns out to be when they get this sort of problem.
As I said in my previous posts I hope the Club issue a warning both in their literature and when taking bookings for tents, these flints that can cut through your ground sheet can be quite small and there is a good chance you may miss the damage until the next time you are on a wet pitch and your under the bed insulation blanket or your bedroom rug gets wet. But my damage stood out like a sore thumb as soon as we lifted the bedroom mat. I will pop a photo of the offending beasts in my gallery. compare the size by the tent anchor rubber.
All the best.
Rex

Loreleilee23,

I think you and I are gonna have to come to some sort of arrangement about No 52! That's MY pitch  ! Always end up on there when we go to Graffham - my favourite site locally.

Luckily never been affected there as rexgrant was.

It's just gorgeous isn't it?

Haha Jfdiyes, what a coincidence lol?! When we go back that's definitely the pitch we'll be requesting, it was so lovely and private. We'll just have to make sure we don't go when you're there  Actually, we'd better stop talking about pitch no.52, or everyone'll be wanting it!

Hi all.
We have just received a letter from the C&C Club HQ to say they are going to compensate me for the damage to my camping gear.
Well done the C&C Club
Some times these days you do get justice, they say they will warn people in the future about the possibility that you could damage your ground sheets on the Graffham pitches
Regards.
Rex
