Hey! Me and my family fancy going to Ireland in our Caravan + Motorhome for our summer holidays next year. We have read bad reports about the toilet facillities etc. and were wondering if anyone could reccomend a decent site for us. We are members of the Caravan Club and we dont want to stay 'out in the sticks'. A nice peaceful site near a village would be nice

 Glen of Aherlow in Tipperary (CC Afillated)   Donghues White Villa Farm Killarney have a look in UKCcamsite listing but these 2 are good stayed there in June.

haven't been there but have heard huge recommendations for it - its near Bantry (about 4 miles) and Ballylicky village very close by

Bad reports about the toilet facilities I haven't heard that one before.  Have visited several all over Ireland and haven't had any problems.  What exactly have you heard and about where ? perhaps others have visited and could help you.

My favourite site in Ireland has unusual but extremely clean toilets but that is one of the reasons we enjoy visiting it along with the fact there are 2 pubs less than 10 minutes walk away.

Hi, we went to Cong this year on the boundary between Galway and Mayo.  Nice site, next to the village of Cong famous for the Quiet Man film.  Also next to Ashford Castle, lovely to spend a day in the grounds.  Very accessible to Conemara etc.  Would definately go back.

Wave Crest on the Ring of Kerry is a lovely site but not really within walking distance of a village (about 2 miles), but there is a beach bar just about walkable along the road from Wave Crest. There is also a good shop at the site.

Flemings White Bridge Killarney is very good. Easy to walk or cycle into the town. If you want a site in Dublin, Camac Valley is excellent - regular bus service from the gate into the city centre and back.
