Off to NZ in 2 weeks time. Has anyone been recently? We are hiring a M/H from Auckland and meandering down to Queensland over 3 and a bit weeks.

Weather sounds a bit chilly and windy but we are looking forward to the trip.

Has anyone any tips for us? Thanks for everything received so far.

                     Gavel.

If you search you will find a number of topics for NZ. I was there last year, you can get 4 seasons in 1 day. so waterproof and warming clothing required. take your own salt and pepper otherwise you will have to buy large package when there.

Camera, loads of memory cards dont for your charger, as it is stunningly beautiful, I only did the South Island, no time to do that half justice in 2 weeks really.

Ask for extra duvets in MH and check the MH over first take photos etc.

Didnt need the table and chairs for outside, too cold.

Campsite are excellant and cheap put our's to shame really. When out in the sticks shops and restaurant close when they like sometimes 4pm food stops at 7:30pm/8pm and fish and chips are cooked to order, you order either a half basket for full basket of chips they dont do peas!!

Have a great time, I hope to return 2009 because it was so beautiful, if you get to Kairkoura do the whale watch we saw 4 hump backed whale, dolphins, Albratros etc seals penquins everything. I am going before I start to cry as I am not going boo hoo boo hoo

Aren't they coming into their Spring/Summer in the southern hemisphere around about now?
