I am expecting baby number 3 (scary!) late Spring next year and am looking to book a child and baby friendly holiday for August 2008.  To date, we have camped using our tent, but the baby will be only about 3 months old and I was thinking that hiring a static caravan might suit us whilst we have such a young baby with us.  Can anybody recommend a child friendly site with statics to hire in the Dorset,Devon Cornwall regions.  I would like some child entertainment but not a noisy site where bars are a big feature.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!! Thank you.

Highlands End, just outside Bridport, Dorset is one.

Sandhills Caravan Park, Mudeford, Nr Christchurch, Dorset is another.

These are two that I know but there are loads and loads of places in the areas you specify - all child friendly. In fact there's so many, it's hard to know where to start!!!!!

I second Hoseasons, Dawlish Sands Holiday park .Nice clean vans and the site is quieter than the Welcome next door, but they are both good sites

I have to reccommend Bashley Park in the New Forest. So close to some lovely areas. Site is really child friendly with indoor and out door pool, play area, crazy golf etc. Does have a club but if you don't use it you won't hear it!

They don't actually rent their statics ( we use our tourer) but there a lots and lots of private advertisers. We hired a static for my mum and dad this year. Just google caravans for hire Bashley Park. I don't think you will be dissappointed!

Coming back that far east, there's also Sandy Balls, just outside Fordingbridge.

More to do there than you can shake a stick at!!!!!

This year we camped at Porth Beach Tourist Park - near Newquay

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2775

Smallish site with only about 10 statics, mainly touring for about 100 pitches maybe - but everything you need and the beach for a lovely cheap family holiday is right next door and there are no steep paths etc to walk down or up and that was what sold it for us! Lots of facilities on the beach so the site didn't have many - but they didn't need to! Couldn't fault the holiday at all(well except the weather!)

It's camping season again!!!
