Help needed urgently.

Exchanged contracts on house today with completion set for Wednesday next week.  We need to find a static caravan that will take four of us plus two small dogs and a cockatiel for about a month.  We would like some entertainment over the holiday for the teenagers if possible.  The sites we have phoned so far are all closed over the holiday season.

Thanks in anticipation

Irene

Ohhh my home area is in that triangle!

Presumably you've tried Freshwater at West Bay, Woodlands at Charmouth etc?

What about speaking to one of the holiday letting agents about a holiday cottage that is vacant over the winter?

My Aunt has a flat in Lyme (too small and booked) she quite often takes six week or more lets over the winter. Lots will be booked for Christmas but worth a try. She uses Lyme Bay Holiday lettings.

Where are you moving to?

Wow, how good is this website?

Thanks for the replies and help.

Booked onto Ange's site in Somerset (link above).  Really looking forward to arriving on Wednesday.  Central to everything we need for the next few months, even kennels nearby to park the dogs when we have to go off for the day on business.

The reviews on here for the site are excellent.

Regards

Irene

It might sound a bit of daft question but why did you leave it so late? Thank goodness you got sorted but surely you would know you would have to be out ages ago?

Unfortunately the solicitor we got came as a package with the estate agent.  They were hopeless.  I signed the contract a month ago and we were only told last week that they were trying for exchange on Thursday.  Got a phone call Friday morning to say that they had exchanged and wanted to complete on Tuesday.  I admit I had taken my eye off the ball because my mother died three weeks ago and had to sort her funeral and probate etc.  I could have moved into her house but just didn't want to stay in Liverpool longer than necessary.

I was expecting about two weeks notice for the exchange and then to complete about a week after that.

Regards

Irene

That's ok.  With emails sometimes things don't come across as you mean them.

My life has been like a Monty Python sketch for the past few years.  Was in a car accident and have become disabled.  Not too bad, just can't walk for long on pavements but have discovered that I can walk on grassy areas longer; can't sit at a desk for long so can't work.  Fall over a lot so it won't matter so much on grass but my house has just become an expensive prison for past four years.  Had a bad fall a couple of years ago because of accident damage and as a result developed a condition which means I am on medication for the rest of my life.

Two eldest have left home in past couple of weeks.  One to Uni and the other just to live with friends up here because he can't move as he is a partner in a business in Liverpool.  Don't know why I'm worrying so much they are 25 and 20.

Mum rushed to hospital then died next day.

Just after I got the phone call on Friday to tell me that contracts had been exchanged I had to take my dad to hospital for the results of tests and they have found a mark on his lung.  I would have put off the move.  My poor sister now has to take him to hospital later today and then again on Thursday.  So prayers, fingers crossed, whatever you believe in may help here.

Just stopped for a cup of coffee, must get back to packing.  Even I  can't believe how much my life has changed recently lol.  Oh for the peace of Devon (taking two youngest sons with me so not much chance of that),

Regards

Irene
