Campsites and Caravan Parks in the UK

Does anybody know if you have to pay in advance to book a site with the C&CC on one of their cs sites? I have my eye on one but advises advance booking.

Also do you find that more sites are asking for deposits that are getting higher and higher???

Hi Mel, no you don't have to pay in advance with the camping and caravan club, are you a member? im pretty new to caravaning so im not sure if you must be a member to book? anyway i just joined on line in October and when we want to go away i just do a search on line of whats available in the area we want to go and reserve on line, you get an email confirmation and pay when you arrive, they even let you cancel on line right up to the day of the booking, we had to cancel last minute a few backs as we found another site not with the caravan club and we just clicked on cancel booking and it was done with no charge.
So far we haven't had to pay anything deposit wise but we are going away end of jan for 5 nights so im thinking maybe the site we want to book will ask for a deposit as its direct with them rather than through the caravan club.

It says on the website that a 25% deposit is taken for club sites but it says nothing about certified sites....maybe it varies site to site as you have to phone direct?

The site owner may need a deposits as a lot book and not come ring and fine out

Because CS &CL's are not owned by the Camping & Caravan club or the Caravan club - it will totally depend on the owners and their policy's. Most will ask for a deposit only, but the few will ask for full payment.

Camping and Caravanning Club charge a deposit for their sites - £25 or full amount if less than that. If you cancel they keep your deposit against your next booking. Caravan Club do not charge deposits for their sites. CL and CS sites vary according to the owner's wishes - some have asked us for a deposit, others not - it's usually a nominal amount.

Generally not, sometimes they ask for a deposit but generally they simply ask you to pay for the time you have stayed just before you leave.
