we are thinking about taken 2 of the grandchildren to Darley Dale area, can you give us any information on what there is to do for children aged 5 and 7.

There is lots to do in that part of Derbyshire - very near to Matlock town and to Matlock Bath, which is like a seaside resort inland by a river!

There is Gullivers Kingdom an adventure play park at Matlock Bath, plus amusement arcades, one of those pottery painting places and an old aquarium. A little further away is Chatsworth house which has a farmyard which is a very popular family attraction.

The park in Matlock is a good starter,then Gullivers Kingdom in Matlock Bath.

Chatsworth Farm Park is great for there ages,however it does get busy in the summer.It has a great adventure play area!

If they are up for a little walk..try the old old gardens behind Chatsworth house (next to the farm park)..they are free and are full of interest for kids..my seven year old loves it, a cheap little guide map from the stables shop will help you out..
