Hi just been trying to book a trip out on the 9th Feb - both Losehill in Derbyshire and Rowntree Park York are full - does anyone have ideas for either of these areas but we need to be in walking distance of a city/town/large village as don't really want to sit in the van in an evening - much prefering a cozy pub in the winter months! Thank you.

try lickpenny near matlock, it would be a couple of miles to the town i guess, depends how much walking you like ? and a very big hill on the way back ! or the grouse and claret pub at rowsley - decent pub and campsite attached
------------- we are where we are - where are we ?
its known as teversal and has loads of facilities close by plus some very good places to eat. a walk to the hardwick hall inn for food is well worth it

We would back up Naburn Lock, easy access off the A64, the pub is friendly and does good food, plus the site is clean and ideally placed for a riveside walk.
